Comparing BEA and Parcelforce Vickers Viscounts!
Переглядів 12Місяць тому
As I suspected, the Parcelforce plane is a slightly stretched version of the BEA machine. The difference in the 1950s colour scheme and the 1980s Parcelforce livery is very striking!
USAF Lockheed C-130 Hercules acquired!

Picked this up from a charity shop in West Wickham a few weeks ago for a few quid. Its’ all-metal and quite heavy. It has some great detailing! I dont normally go for military planes but this one is close enough to being an airliner that I was happy to acquire it 😊
Aer Lingus Airbus A320 acquired!
Переглядів 23Місяць тому
Acquired this along with the Airtours 757, this was also £3.50. I always loved the Aer Lingus colour scheme so i was absolutely delighted to add this beauty to the fleet!
Airtours Boeing 757-200 G-RJGR acquired!
Переглядів 184Місяць тому
Picked this up fro a charity shop for £3.50, an absolute bargain! This plane was acrually only the second to be delivered to the 757’s launch customer Eastern Airlines in December 1982, but it also spent time with MGM Grand Air and Spanair as well as Eastern and Airtours. An excellent addition to the fleet!

Picked this up for four quid from the carboot sale a couple of weeks ago, very happy to have added it to my airliner fleet 😊 its the same scale as the British Caledonian DC-10 I got recently, so the scale is good for detailing 😊
Dune prequel and sequel novels acquired!
Переглядів 16Місяць тому
A few days after picking up the House Atreides book, my local charity shop had a bunch of the prequels/sequels in stock, so of course I a auired all of them! It cost a tenner for the lot, which was an excellent bargain! Ive started on Hunters if Dune, and thoroughky enjoying it so far 😃

Picked this up for a pound for a charity shop, I’m aware the the sequels/prequels don’t habe the same depth as the original series, nut for a quid its worth a punt 😊
Two Terminators acquired!

Picked up the T-1000 and Exoskeleton Terminator from the carboot last weekend for three quid each, they’ll make fine additions to Scott’s Tarminator hunting pack!

Ah, now here’s a classic of my youth 😊 I read this in university thirty plus years ago and tboroughly enjoyed it, looking forward to redonnecting with Tanis Half-Elven and the others!

Picked these up for a pound each from the carboot a couple of weeks ago, Scott didnt have any of them - but now he does!
Parcelforce Vickers Viscount acquired!
Переглядів 31Місяць тому
Picked this up a couple of months ago, I love the all-red fuselage 😊 I think its a slightly different variant of the Viscount compared to my BEA one, but we’ll do a comparison video in due course!
Boeing 777-300ER acquired!
Переглядів 76Місяць тому
I acquired this beauty for £25 from thr Bromley market - it originally cost $55, so a decent bargain considering the high quality of the model. It also has the undercarriage but i opted for the in-flight configuration. It has a wood and metal stand; I suspect it might be from the Boeing Museum shop in Seattle, given how rare the Boeing house livery is on models 😊 I’m absolutely delighted with it!

I just finished A Death In Diamonds, and as much as I loved the other 3, this is the best one yet 😊 I think the 1950s setting has allowed some fascinating storytelling - the historical details, albeit slightly altered for narrative reasons - were excellent. I didn't know Daphne Du Maurier knew the Queen! I can't wait for The Queen Who Came In From The Cold!

Hey Ross! Haven't commented in a while, but I'm still kicking, watching your videos pretty consistently. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this question, but have you ever gotten feedback about the volume quality on your vids? I pretty consistently (across desktop and mobile) find that your audio is simply too quiet. Especially on mobile. I'm guessing that's something you can affect on your end? My thinking is that it doesn't hurt to be a bit louder than needed, so people can adjust the sound quality to their liking. Right now, I have no way of increasing the volume of your vids. Even with the desktop volume and UA-cam app volume maxed out, you don't come through loud enough for me. I did some tests and this is consistent across many years of vids. By the way, the issue is particularly prevalent with headphones. Normal audio through desktop speaker is passable. I could just be talking out my rear end, maybe this is just an issue on my end? However I have checked with 3 or 4 different types of headphones, ear buds, ear phones, Bluetooth, wired etc. and the audio comes out quiet through all of them. Do you think it's an issue with the level of audio captured during the filming? Or is it a matter of selecting the volume when you publish the vid? Have you ever tested your vids on different devices/headphones to see what it's like? Cheers.

    • @RossForsterFraser
      @RossForsterFraser 3 місяці тому

Hey, been a while! I'm using the built-in microphone of the ipad. I can check the settings, but whenever I've played the vids back on different devices there hasn't been an issue with the volume when I've been listening to them (other than an occasional mumble that hasn't been picked up by the mic)

I'm a little late, but a very happy birthday! I also like books from the children's or young adult section. Very entertaining. I also love sci-fi. Edgar Rice Burroughs is a dear favorite, As is Isaac Asimov. I also read all of the Agatha Christie books when I was 14, one summer when I spent all my time at the library.

Are there more crossections like the Luthens ship ? This seems to be a better guide than the mandalorian one (which was not a visual guide) but im missing some locations and more crossections and details on the weapons/gadgets - the things where you find out they used a womens razor for a comlink :)

Hmmm, I’m not sure, I’d have to check, but this VD and the other one I got recently (the one with the food section) are among the best ones for details and factoids compared to the ones for the movies. Although the Rogue One VD is terrific too 😊

thanx, it helped me to decide if this book is worh of purchasing. It is not as its not what i want. I want a visual dictionary / crossection book similar to the previous ones - i want to see all the weapons props in detail, there were several new ships parked or briefly seen - i want to see more pictures from all sides, crossection if it a bigger ship, i want a map of the locations. This is just a bunch of pictures from the series + few behind the scenes ones a some text to fill the blank space. The last good book fro SW i have is for Rogue One and im waiting on a similar for the Mando. But your review was very helpful to me and saved me around 50 eur for the books - many thanx.
